CLASSICAL FENCING INSTRUCTOR CURRICULUM

The Classical Academy of Arms provides online instruction in teaching the skills of classical fencing to meet the requirements of the instructional ranks of the Academy.  Four courses provide the complete progression from Classical Fencing Demonstrator to Classical Fencing Master.   All Academy courses award continuing education units (CEU), the national standard measure of formal learning conducted outside the college or university setting.  One CEU equals 10 contact hours of instruction.  Current course offerings are listed below:

CAA100 - Classical Fencing Demonstrator -  designed to prepare the candidate to teach entry level students in foil and to assist in the management of classes at a higher level.  Course became available in 2006.  Tuition is $100.00.

CAA200 - Classical Fencing Instructor - designed to prepare the candidate to teach individual and group lessons covering all aspects of classical Foil fencing.  Course is scheduled for release in March 2010.  Tuition is $100.00

CAA300 - Classical Fencing Provost - designed to prepare the candidate to teach individual and group lessons covering all aspects of a second classical weapon.  Course is scheduled for release in August 2010.  Tuition is $150.00

CAA400 - Classical Fencing Master - designed to prepare the candidate to teach individual and group lessons covering all aspects of the third classical weapon.  Course is scheduled for release in March 2011.  Tuition is $150.00
